ADDITIONAL INFO:
1886 Hopkins map shows the home of "Mrs. Tassey" on the right bank of the stream north of the PRR. On the hilltop to the west (above the present location of Wilkins Av), is the home of Hon. Wm. G. Hawkins. The Hawkins heirs land covered the area from that point to the Monongahela River near the present Rankin Bridge.

Though the lower section of the stream has been covered over, diverted into sewers and no longer reaches the Monongahela River, the 524-acre watershed was listed for study by 3 Rivers 2nd Nature (3r2n.cfa.cmu.edu) for restoration to a more natural condition.

A metal builder's plaque is attached to the downstream railing:
